Patch is a 2 year old male Small/Medium Cross-Breed. He is a nervous boy to begin with and can sometimes give out a growl, though this is not aggression but fear.
With a soft approach, plenty of treats, and reassurance, Patch soon begins to trust and show his true gentle nature. A safe space in the home where he can feel comfortable will help him settle in.
Despite his initial nerves, Patch is toilet trained, crate trained, and can be left for up to four hours without issue. He sleeps peacefully overnight on his bed downstairs and has shown no destructive habits.
With patience and kindness, he reveals himself to be a very loving and rewarding companion.
Patch is still learning to feel comfortable on the lead and needs continued training with this. When out walking, he can be jumpy and will sometimes hide behind his person if something unsettles him, needing reassurance to carry on.
Walking alongside another dog helps him feel more confident, and this is why he would benefit from a home with a canine companion.
His foster describes him as a nervous boy with a huge love for food, especially cheese. He spends much of his day napping and continues to improve with training every day.
With the right family, Patch will blossom into the loving, loyal, and happy dog he is meant to be.
