Meet Skye, a 2 year old female Cross-Breed of large size. She’s a happy, affectionate, and loving girl once she trusts you, though she’ll need someone patient who can visit multiple times to build a bond before she moves into her new home. Skye is reactive to new people visiting, so a calm household with minimal visitors will suit her best. Skye is a big puppy at heart with a goofy personality. She loves her toys, Kongs, and lickimats and thrives on playtime with her favourite humans. She can have mixed reactions around other dogs — she’s previously lived successfully with them but can be reactive toward dogs outside the home. Skye would benefit from having another confident, playful dog in the home, as she can become anxious on her own. She can be bouncy and boisterous in her interactions and needs a companion who can handle her exuberance. Skye accepts a collar, harness, and lead, but she’s strong and does pull. She can be reactive on walks, especially toward other dogs and people, although she has made friends with a small dog near her current home and does well with familiar dogs. Skye is toilet trained and crate trained. She can be destructive with furniture or household items when left unattended, so she should be crated when alone to keep her safe. She’s improving over time and is good overnight. Skye travels well for short car trips. Because she reacts to people passing by the home, a quiet area or private entrance would be ideal. She may guard high-value treats like bones around other dogs, so it’s best to avoid these. Skye is an affectionate, playful, and intelligent girl who needs a calm, understanding home with structure, patience, and another confident dog to help her thrive.
