Lovely Danny is still waiting patiently for his new home – this charming chap has come on leaps and bounds since arriving here at Battersea Old Windsor and he’s ready to show off his affectionate and unique character in his new home.
We know so much about Danny and his likes and dislikes. He’s spending some time in a foster home and, after some initial settling-in anxieties, now loves getting zoomies in the garden and one of his favourite places to walk is a quiet nature reserve, he even enjoys a little paddle in the stream. He has a playful side, especially with soft, fluffy toys and can get very excited. Occasionally he helps himself to one of his foster carer’s slippers and will parade around the garden with it. He also loves sunbathing and will happily find a sunbeam to snooze in.
Danny finds aspects of the outside world quite frightening and will not be a dog to enjoy long hikes in unfamiliar places. However, he loves walks in quieter places that he knows and sometimes likes to just stop to watch the world go by and due to his this he needs a home that is not on or near busy roads. He can find some noises at home startling too – he won’t be helping with the vacuuming any time soon – but he will just take himself away if he needs to.
He is affectionate and will come and slink past you, and maybe give a small bark, if he is after some attention. Danny is a dog who likes his own space when he is resting, so we would advise his new owners to have some clear areas, and his own beds, where he will not be disturbed.
Danny prefers calm introductions with other dogs and quite often moves himself away. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home, but would enjoy some walking buddies. He is fond of car travel and will lay down and relax for the journey.
His foster carers have worked hard to help Danny feel more independent at home, as he does form very strong relationships with his owners; this has paid off as he can now be left alone for short periods of time. He really benefits from having clear boundaries and structure to help him and his owners should understanding that he’ll feel a bit unsettled as he finds his feet in a new routine and home.
He is a super dog looking for knowledgeable owners who can commit to him. You will be rewarded with plenty of love and some Greyhound leaning!
