Dixie

Dixie is a 2 year old female medium mixed breed currently in Warwickshire. She is not yet spayed on previous veterinary advice. Dixie is looking for a new home due to a change in her owner’s circumstances which means she is being left for long periods. Dixie is an intelligent and active dog who enjoys outdoor environments, particularly countryside walks and time near water. She is playful and energetic, and benefits from regular physical and mental stimulation. She forms strong bonds with her primary person but can be wary of unfamiliar people. She requires slow, structured introductions and time to build trust. Once comfortable, she is affectionate and loyal. Dixie walks well on lead but may pull initially or when distracted by wildlife or other dogs. She enjoys the company of medium and large dogs and can play in an energetic manner. She is not suitable to live with small dogs. Dixie is fully housetrained and settles well in the home. She can be left for periods once settled and benefits from a calm, structured routine. She can show guarding behaviours around food and space, so management and understanding of these behaviours will be important. Dixie would suit an experienced, adult-only home in a quieter or rural environment. A home with other medium to large, well-balanced dogs may help her confidence.
